Governance that keeps pace with growth
Movement Software builds the systems that keep society moving. It brings more than 20 market-leading software companies in Northern Europe together under one brand. Their business-critical software and information services cover vehicles, transport and logistics, and public mobility. The group is owned by the Danish investor Axcel together with management, and it grows both organically and through acquisitions.
Running an international group at that pace is as much about how people work together as about what they build. New companies join, due diligence never really stops, and several boards work in parallel across borders. Here governance is part of the business, and it’s what lets the group keep moving without friction.
From an encrypted folder to a shared way of working
Movement used to keep sensitive information on an encrypted file platform. Security was high and the aim was clear: no sensitive material should end up in the wrong place.
But at heart it was a folder structure. No meeting management, nothing for agendas or minutes, no e-signatures and no way to hold structured discussions in the same place. As soon as a conversation with an outside party needed to go deeper, it moved to email, with all the risk and confusion that brings.

As soon as an outside party is on an email, there’s a risk. We wanted one official channel for all formal communication.
Secure storage simply wasn’t enough. What the group needed was a shared way of working, just as secure, but more structured and far more useful day to day.
One channel for formal governance
Today the group board and every subsidiary board work in Hippoly. It’s also the data room for acquisitions and the hub for communication with lenders, banks and auditors. Even the dialogue with the owners has its own workspace. Around 80 people inside the group work in Hippoly, and at times there are as many external users.
All the information sits in one place, but what matters more is that the workflows are built into the way people work. The agenda templates are ready to use, and the minutes follow a set structure and are e-signed. The annual planner drives planning in each focus area and produces documentation that holds up all the way through certifications and external reviews.
Whatever doesn’t need to differ from company to company is standardised. That gives clarity across all 20 companies without taking the flexibility out of day-to-day operations.
The platform is also clearly separate from the group’s internal IT environment. Formal documents are shared and discussed here, securely and under control. Nothing is stored locally, and nothing spreads through stray email threads. It’s easy to upload a document, put it in the right context and discuss it in the same place.
Easy to use. And consistent.
From data room to everyday board work
The effect shows most clearly when Movement makes an acquisition. During due diligence, Hippoly is the data room. Once the deal is done, the work carries straight on in Hippoly, now as the board forum for the new company.
No handover. No change of system. No new structure to build.
In international acquisitions, where new owners need to build trust quickly, how the process feels matters. A structured, secure environment signals professionalism and a long-term view from the first contact.
When we invite companies into our processes, we want them to feel that we’re a professional, long-term owner. The way we work is part of that. Hippoly makes us more attractive as an owner.
Less friction, more momentum
With 20 companies and several board meetings a year in each, that’s a steady stream of minutes, decisions and formal documents. When it’s all handled in one shared, clearly bounded place, the friction goes.
The risk of sending material to the wrong people is gone. It’s perfectly clear who has seen what. Auditors and lenders can be invited into the right context without exposing the group’s internal systems.
It saves time. But just as important, it brings calm.
For a group that keeps growing and is approaching the next stage in its development, predictability is an asset. Standardised, traceable governance makes the organisation less dependent on individuals and more resilient, whether the next step is an acquisition, new financing or a future liquidity event.
Governance as a strategic asset
For Movement, Hippoly isn’t “just” a board portal or a document management tool. It’s part of the management system, a shared way of working that runs through the boards, the owners and the external relationships.
When governance works smoothly and securely every day, it also becomes a competitive advantage in the big processes. It strengthens Movement’s appeal as an owner and builds trust both inside and outside the group.
That’s where the next level of group governance begins, when governance keeps pace with the group’s momentum.

Customer story · Aleva Sverige
The board behind Aleva’s growth
Elderly care in Sweden is an industry where much has long been done the same way. When the entrepreneurs Frida and Aron Starkman started Aleva in Umeå, in northern Sweden, that was exactly what they wanted to challenge. They felt the industry often followed a fairly fixed rulebook, and that things could be done differently.

Customer story · Sjöson
How Sjöson combines group governance with entrepreneurial drive
As Sjöson added companies, boards and group-wide initiatives, it needed more structure, transparency and control, without losing the entrepreneurial drive that runs through the whole group. The answer was one shared approach to board and management work, with Hippoly at the centre.
